Cheltenham Festival 2008
One of the biggest annual UK National Hunt events is the 2008 Cheltenham Festival and it is fast approaching. This year it takes place from March 11-14. The main events are the Champion Hurdle & Gold Cup and this year’s favourites are Sizing Europe and Kauto Star. More to follow as the festival approaches.

The favourites did not win the main races at Cheltenham this year. Kauto Star was beaten by his unbeaten stablemate in the Gold Cup and Katchit was the first 5 year old winner of the Champion Hurdle since 1985 and also won the 4 year Triumph Hurdle event last year, which hadn’t been done since 1968. This year’s event was also badly effected by weather with the racing on the Wednesday being cancelled and the races were rescheduled across the remaining two days.
